Make Eye Serum Part of Your Daily Routine

Our eyes are so important to us in every way, so they really deserve special care.

They can so easily become dull, lifeless and bloodshot.  Such signs and symptoms are often caused because of lack of sleep, long working hours, too much screen time, alcohol and smoking, becoming dehydrated and even health problems.

Many of these causes can be got rid of through lifestyle changes

For example, getting good quality and sufficient sleep every night which ideally means eight hours of uninterrupted and restful sleep with set times for bedtime and waking up.  Sleeping in a quiet, dark and well-ventilated room while avoiding a heavy meal or drinking alcohol beforehand.  These measures will help to avoid eyes that look droopy, dull and tired as well as dark circles and puffiness under your eyes.

Other ways to help your eyes

  • Eye exercises will help to add sparkle to your eyes while alleviating eye strain and improve blood circulation to them.  One suggestion is to rub the palms of your hands together until they become warm, then place them over your closed eyelids for a few minutes.
  • Chilling with a few thick slices of cooled cucumber placed on closed eyelids until they warm up.  A way to help soothe dull and tired eyes is by washing the eyes with fresh room temperature water a few times daily.  Avoid dry eyes when spending too long in front of a computer screen by taking breaks and blinking often.  Additional help comes with hydrating with plenty of water plus water-based fruits and veggies.
  • A gentle eye massage (by applying a few drops of olive oil or coconut oil to the fingers and gently massaging the inner corners of the eyes, the center of the brows, the outer daily) will improve blood circulation to the eyes while reducing eye strain and prevent fine lines.
  • Steeping two tea bags (black or green) in a cup of water for five minutes, removing and squeezing out any water before refrigerating for fifteen minutes and placing on closed eyes for five minutes can also be helpful.
  • The opposite of some of the cooling suggestions is actually a warm compress which relax those muscles around the eyes, helping to restore that sparkle!  Dip a soft cloth in warm water and wring out the excess water before placing the warm cloth over closed eyelids for a minute.
  • There are even several foods to include in your diet that will provide nutrition for the eyes.  The list includes carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach, bell peppers, salmon, squash, guava, oranges, limes and papaya.
