Tired of Hemorrhoids? Here's What Actually Helps

A hemorrhoid is caused by the weakening of cushions of tissue in the lower rectum so  that the affected skin blows up like a tiny balloon and fills with blood.

More information about hemorrhoids

While hemorrhoids can occur inside or outside the anal opening, the painful burning many people associate with hemorrhoids usually comes from external hemorrhoids.

Internal hemorrhoids are unlikely to have symptoms unless they bleed. They can prolapse and remain outside the anal opening.

Although hemorrhoids are more of a discomfort than a danger to your health, in rare cases it is possible for infections to occur.

The main cause of hemorrhoids is constipation or even diarrhea.  When you have to strain to pass hard stools, this can irritate the sensitive tissues in the anal area resulting in burning and swelling during and after using the bathroom.

How can hemorrhoids symptoms be treated?

  1. When you suffer from hemorrhoids, you will find that cotton wool pads treated with witch hazel are soothing and comforting to the affected anal area.
  2. Frequent warm baths or a sitz bath can be very soothing, You can use a regular bath tub or just a basin big enough to sit in. Try to use this remedy for twenty minutes after each bowel movement as well as another two or three sessions each day.  Never be rough in drying the area, just pat dry.
  3. Ice packs are another suggestion to help with symptoms while sitting in a warm and soothing Epsom salt bath helps both the anal and rectum muscles to relax, improving bowel movements. Add two cups of Epsom salt to a warm bath and soak for at least twenty minutes to get the full benefits
  4. Avoid straining as this can mean even more pain and making any problems worse. Act on the urge to use the toilet - at once - to avoid the stool becoming harder.&nbsp
  5. Avoid prolonged sitting on the toilet. If you spend too long on the toilet such as reading or using your phone, this can make hemorrhoids even worse.
  6. Toilet hygiene. Use plain water to clean your bottom after a bowel movement, taking care not to leave any stool behind as this can aggravate and irritate any hemorrhoids. Avoid being rough or using soaps that contain harsh chemicals, alcohol or perfumes.

Here are some further suggestions to relieve the pain and discomfort of hemorrhoids

  1. Adding plenty of fiber with fluids to your diet to help soften stools, making them easier to eliminate while reducing the pressure on the hemorrhoids.  Suggestions for high fiber food include lots of berries, avocados, beans, wheat and oat bran, wholegrain foods and plenty of fresh fruit.  Gradually increase your fiber foods to avoid any bloating or gas while at the same time including plenty of liquids.
  2. Regular and brisk exercise is also important.  This could be a moderate aerobic workout or walking thirty minutes a day.  Such exercise will help to stimulate bowel function.

  3. Get into the habit of regular trips to the toilet, preferably have a set time each day (for example after a meal) to sit on the toilet for a few minutes.  But be careful not to sit for too long as mentioned earlier. In between, don't put off a trip to the bathroom if the time is right.
  4. Always sit on a cushion rather than a hard surface.  A doughnut cushion is another suggestion.  Avoiding hard surfaces for sitting helps to reduce the swelling of hemorrhoids while preventing new ones.
  5. The ultimate natural remedy is H-Hemorrhoids Formula providing the perfect treatment for the symptoms of both internal and external hemorrhoids.  It is easily applied topically to the area, helping to provide fast pain relief and shrink those unwanted hemorrhoids by reducing swelling.  Our H-Hemorrhoids Formula is perfect for the symptoms of all types of hemorrhoids: prolapsed hemorrhoids; external hemorrhoids; thrombosed hemorrhoids; and hemorrhoids with minor bleeding.

More information about the different types of hemorrhoids?

There are two types of hemorrhoids: external and internal.

External hemorrhoids arise from the anal canal, while internal hemorrhoids arise from the rectum, immediately above the anal canal.

While one type is not worse than the other, both can cause problems depending on their size and degree.

    • Untreated internal hemorrhoids can cause bleeding.
    • External hemorrhoids can cause [blood clotting], which gives way to severe pain from hemorrhoidal strangulation.

It is therefore wise to deal with the condition as soon as you can.
